Good questions, straight answers
Do I really own my website?
Yes. Your domain is registered in your name, and the site's code and files are yours. If you ever want to take it elsewhere, we hand over everything: the code, the domain and a handover pack your next developer can follow.
Why is a monthly plan required?
We host every site we build, so the monthly plan covers keeping yours online: hosting, security, uptime checks and your domain renewal. Hosting is £15 a month. Care (£49 a month) adds up to 4 small edits a month on top.
What happens if I cancel?
Plans are rolling monthly. Give us 30 days' notice and you can cancel any time. When you leave, you take your site and your domain with you: we transfer the domain to you and hand over the site's code with a handover pack your next developer can follow. We never hold your domain or your site hostage.
Can I switch plans?
Yes. You can move between Hosting and Care with 30 days' notice. For example, start on Care while you settle in, then drop to Hosting once your site is how you want it.
Is the domain included?
Yes. Website setup includes your domain (for example yourbusiness.co.uk), registered in your name. We renew it every year as part of your monthly plan, so there's nothing extra to pay or remember.
What counts as a small edit, and what's a bigger change?
Small edits are quick updates such as changing text, prices, photos, staff or opening hours. Care includes up to 4 a month. The Hosting plan doesn't include edits. Bigger changes, like a new page, a new section, a redesign or a new feature, are quoted separately from £45/hour, and you'll always see the price before we start.
Do I need a booking app?
No. If you already use one, like Booksy, Fresha or similar, we connect your site to it. If you'd like online bookings but don't have an app yet, we'll recommend one that suits your business (many have free plans) and help you set it up in your own name, so your bookings and customer list stay yours. If you don't take bookings, your site will have clear ways to call, message or send an enquiry instead.
How quickly can my site be live?
Once we have your details (logo, photos, services and prices), most sites are ready to review within a few days. The biggest factor is usually how quickly you send the details over.
Why custom-coded instead of Wix or Squarespace?
Custom-coded sites load faster, which helps with Google, and there are no plugins to update or break. You don't have to manage a website builder account: we host it and handle the technical side, and you still own the site and domain.
